haha thanks a lot flora! yea im totally using my tablet for these ( i need a bigger tablet XD ) yea ive been trying new techniques in photoshop lately...
I like how your loose, painterly brush strokes in contrast to the tighter brush strokes draw my attention to the face.
I would only suggest maybe giving the composition another shot to make it really pop :)

Thanks dave! i appreciate your words. i recently read an online article about painting with larger prushes in order to prevent getting bogged down with details too early on. I think it's great advice and ive been trying to paint this way recently - i do agree, however, with you about trying to make the image pop a little more. i was considering adding a little bit of color almost like the frank miller style.
